We expect ALL participating members of ALL Shipton-under-Wychwood Cricket teams to behave in a sportsman-like and respectful manner to all visiting sides, supports and match officials, as set out in our Club Mandate.

Umpires & Tea Ladies
Whilst League Umpires and our Tea Ladies do receive a sum of money to cover their costs, they are volunteering their time and effort and we are very appreciative of this; we expect ALL members of Shipton-under-Wychwood Cricket Club to be polite and respectful of these participants at ALL times.

A bad-tempered affair saw Shipton bat extremely well but not produce their normal quality of bowling ability.
Justin Hemming (44) and Matthew Barnes (104*) paved the way for a huge total of 230 from 44 overs, Barnes bringing up his century with a six, to go with his 12 fours. Shiptons innings seemed to go on forever with Bicesters captain making excessive field changes and slowing the game down at every opportunity.
The Bicester innings was a similar event with no attempt to chase the total, a disputed catch from the opener Hall (who went on to make 55* from 48 overs) not given and numerous interruptions from the umpiring captain to look after off-field affairs while there were half a dozen Bicester players and parents more than capable of doing so. Shiptons inability to put the ball in the right areas often enough compounded the issue and it took a spell from Sunday bowler Justin Hemming to galvanise the Shipton attack. But a bore draw it turned out to be.

Unless otherwise stated: -

Cherwell League games start at 1.00pm for our 1st XI and 2nd XI, 1.30pm for our 3rd XI; please arrive an hour before these games if at home for warm-up, and at the designated time and location for away games.

National Village Knockout and most Sunday games start at 2pm. The same fee and arrival times apply.

Most evening games (e.g. Over 40's) are scheduled to start at 6.15pm.
