Club Mark
Shipton Cricket Club, co-ordinated by Charlie Barrett, has been working hard to provide a high standard of coaching within the Youth Section of the club; these these efforts have been rewarded by the club gaining recognition by the English & Wales Cricket Board in being awarded the coveted Club Mark award.The ECB Club Mark is the equivalent of the British Standard Kite Mark for Youth Cricket coaching. It tells parents and guardians that their child is at a club that takes safety of the children, the level of coaching being given and ensuring the participants all have fun to the required, high, standard.
As well as providing this standard of coaching the award allows the club to apply for future grants for funding toward the youth section; this is obviously very important for the club.
