2010| National Village Knockout Regional Draw Made | 05.02.2010 | | We have drawn Sandford St. Martin at Home in the Second round of the NVKO on Sunday 9th May. | 2010 Fixture News | 29.01.2010 | The first competitive game of the season will be the Derek Primmett League Cup First Round game against local rivals Oxford Downs, at Home on Saturday 17th April.
The draw for the National Village Knockout First Round has not yet been made, but will be played the following Sunday (25th April).
The 1st XI start the season under new Skipper Simon Hole hosting Bicester & North Oxford on Saturday 8th May. The 2nd XI, directed by new Skipper Christian Brain, will be travelling the scenic route to Bledlow Ridge 2's, whilst established 3's skipper Charlie Barrett will be overseeing the first 3rd XI game on the Nursery Ground against Bledlow Village 3's.
Information on pre-season friendlies will be available shortly. |

| Over 40s Triumph Again! | 07.09.2009 | Congratulations to the Over 40s for winning a close final against Oxford & Bletchingdon to win the competition for the third year running! Anthony-Prior Wandesforde, Chris Panter and Simon Dickens were the heroes with the bat whilst Shaun Miller and Paul Hemming topped a great all-round bowling performance off to win by 20 runs. | Twenty20 Day | 02.09.2009 | | Luckily the sun came out and we had a great afternoon of cricket, two close games, plenty of banter, tunes and food. The Greg Barrett Memorial game was played in great spirit and ended in a tie with both teams on 155 runs at the end of their 20 overs, the highlight of the day being John Barretts 50. The Ian Lewis Invitational XI capped the day with a last over win against the Shipton XI. The PA system seemed to be a success and the BBQ was sold out. In the First XI Sahan, Dickon and Jon Hartley have all cleared 200 runs for the season, whilst Shaun Miller has taken 19 wickets, and Sahan 12.
In the Second XI Lambo is the only player past 200 runs, although Russell Hayes is close with 178. Lambo has also got 17 wickets, Carvey with 15 and Sam Jones (14) and A.P.W. with 11 not far behind.
Finally, in the 3rd XI Josh Bishop has scored 275 runs and Matt Hemming has taken 16 wickets with Carl Tinsen (13) not far behind.
Leading the way in the Duck Cup is Steven Carvey with 3, but there is a group five players on 2.
Joe Benson has taken the lead again in the Fantasy League, but Ian Lewis is only 21 points behind.

The following cricket coaching weeks are being run at
BURFORD SCHOOL & COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Tuesday 14th August – Friday 17th August
Boys and Girls aged 7-11 – soft and hard ball
10.00am – 3.00pm ~ Cost £40
Tuesday 28th August – Friday 31st August
Boys 10 – 14 – hard ball only
10.00am – 3.00pm ~ Cost £40
All sessions are run by a qualified Level 2 cricket coach. Drinks will be provided but please bring a packed lunch and wear suitable clothing. For the hard ball cricket those attending will need to provide their own cricket kit to wear during coaching sessions.

| Cricket Club Golf Tournament | 26.07.2007 | If anyone is interested in the following please let me know:
Ram International Ltd are pleased to announce the Ram Cricket Club Golf Championship - open to every Cricket Club in the UK. During the summer, at quality golf courses in the North and South of England, teams of four golfers from cricket clubs will play a stableford, 4-ball better ball competition.
Your cricket club will compete in one of 2 regional qualifiers. The top six teams in each will proceed to the Cricket Club Golf Championship Grand Final being held at Walton Heath Golf Club in October 2007.
The price will be only £40 per person including bacon rolls on arrival, 18 holes of golf, and at the finals there will be a phenomenal three course dinner and prize giving.
Preliminary rounds are being held at:-
Frodsham Golf Club in Cheshire on 12 September 2007 & Magnolia Park Golf Club in Buckinghamshire on 17 September 2007
With the Finals being held at:-
Walton Heath Golf Club - voted as one of the top ten courses in the UK and home to the 1981 Ryder Cup, on Wednesday 17 October 2007. |

| Quiz Night Success! | 02.07.2007 | | Thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed the Quiz Night on Saturday. The eventual winners were The Shipton Shockers, made up of Paul Jennings, Shirley Mitchell, Steven Carvey and Ali Tomasiello. We managed to raise £200 for the club. Thanks to Ella Duester for the organising (please make sure we have a better compere for next time tho!). |

| Clubmark 761 | 07.06.2007 | We are the 761st club to receive the ECB Clubmark qualification. This is an accreditation to the youth structure at the club. Thanks to VC Charlie Barrett for all the hard work he has put in, and continues to put in, to achieve this. Check back soon for more information on how Clubmark affects Shipton.

| NVKO News | 22.05.2007 | The win on Sunday has put us through to a tie with Tiddington in the 3rd Round. Tiddington beat Charlie Huntingfords Bledington by 7 wickets.
Horspath are through to face Aston Rowant after Tetsworth withdrew. Great and Little Tew face Sandford St. Martin after Freeland and Peppard both withdrew. Local rivals Oxford Downs maintained their course to meet us again by beating Kidmore End by 2 Wickets, chasing down Kidmore Ends 180 for the loss of 8. They will meet either Hanborough or Oxford and Bletchindgon in the next round, result not yet in. |

Early estimates show around £500 was raised through the tote and bar.
